TAMPA, Fla. - The suspect in nine-year-old Felecia Williams' murder made his first appearance in a Tampa court Monday.
Granville Ritchie, 35, faced a judge on murder, capital sexual assault, and aggravated child abuse charges. He was formally charged in the crime on Friday.

The Temple Terrace Police chief said Friday that Williams suffered blunt force trauma to her head, was sexually assaulted and strangled. Police said her body was concealed in a suitcase and dumped along the Courtney Campbell Causeway, where she was later found in May.
Ritchie is being held in the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
