Defense testimony over in McTear trial

UPDATE: Defense has rested.
On Tuesday, the defense called several witnesses to the stand in the Richard McTear murder trial.
First to take the stand was Dr. Thomas David, a dentist, who was consulted by the defense to examine bite marks on Emmanuel Murray.
McTear is accused of throwing Emmanuel, his ex-girlfriend’s baby, from a car on I-275 in Tampa.
Richard McTear, Sr., Richard's father, was also called to the stand.  He was drilled about text messages he received from his son following the death of the child.

Prosecutors rested their case late Monday afternoon.  During the final day of testimony, prosecutors revealed new DNA evidence.
Prosecutors also argued on Monday that blood found on shorts McTear was wearing at the time of his arrest came from the 3-month-old child.
An FDLE crime lab analyst said she found the DNA of the baby's mother on a T-shirt McTear was wearing. She also said the mother's DNA was found under the fingernails on McTear's right hand.
This is McTear’s second trial. His first ended in a mistrial.
Jurors are expected to begin deliberations as soon as Wednesday.
