PLANT CITY, Fla. - It's hard to believe that at 16 yearold Caroline Kole is become a tradition at the Florida Strawberry Festival, but that is exactly the case, and the festival has worked to make it so.
"The Strawberry Festival tweeted me," Caroline told me via Skype, "and said to me that I am becoming a tradition."
This warmed Kole's heart to no end.
"Just to know that this place I grew up with, grew up going to and eating their food, and now they are calling me a tradition? I mean to play on that stage, it's crazy."
Her enthusiasm is obvious for what she does. Now living and going to High School in the Nashville area, the Tampa Bay native still calls the Bay Area home.
But home is where the heart is and her heart is in her music.
Caroline, who just released a new single, "Money To Me", has now also just released a new EPkind of like a mini album. And since she has been writing since she was pretty much walking, picking the songs to record was no easy task. "When it finally came down to picking the songs for the EP, it was probably the most stressful time in my life, because we had so many songs to pick from. But I'm really happy with the 6 we ended up choosing."
And if you'd like to hear those songs, Caroline Kole is playing today at the Strawberry Festival at 1 p.m. So the tradition continues a the Florida Strawberry Festival, which works because it is rooted here with someone you can't help but root for.
