Hundreds of bikes filled the Eckerd Community Alternatives parking lot on Saturday afternoon.  The group was giving away bikes to foster families.

"Every child deserves to wake up on Christmas and have something to look forward to no matter what," said foster parent Althea Neath.

She said her boys will love waking up on Christmas to two brand new bikes.  About five-hundred bikes went out to Tampa Bay area foster families on Saturday.  A group called "Onbikes" made the effort possible.

"It started about five years ago and really we just wanted to find a way to give back to the community," said Chairman Drew Weatherford.

Onbikes purchases and assembles all of the bikes just in time for Christmas.  The group does fundraisers and a large bike-ride to help pay for the program.

Foster mom Tiffany Jost said she can't wait to give her daughter the new present.

"I think she'll be pretty excited her favorite color is pink so the fact that it is pink is really cool," said Jost.
