Smoke from a 50-acre brush fire near the Hillsborough and Manatee county line shut down I-75 in both directions during Tuesday evening rush hour.
As of 9:40 p.m., all lanes of I-75 were reopened following lengthy closures.
The fire broke out in an area of dense brush near the interstate in Hillsborough County near the Manatee County line. The Florida Highway Patrol closed the roadway because of the heavy smoke.
According to the Division of Forestry, two tractor plow units on scene helped battle the fire.
