End of the world means parties and deals

Doomsday tattoos and apocalyptic brewers featured

CARROLLWOOD, Fla. - If the world is going to end, why not go out with a party?

"Lots of people have been talking about it." said Yannina Barsallo.

That is the plan at Barsallo's business, Cepas Wine Bar in Carrollwood.

They've got a special bash planned for Friday, featuring a couple 'end of the world' themed brews.

"I've heard it from some people. Might as well get drunk," said Barsallo.

Before you go to that end of the world party, you might as well get a tattoo, too.

At Standing Art Tattoos in Port Richey, Adam Natonio is offering some apocalyptic discounts, and a special "I survived Doomsday 2012" design.

"If it happens, it happens. There's nothing you can really do about it, but I kinda knew in the back of my head that nothing really would happen," said Natonio.

A quick search on line shows many other businesses are using the Mayan prophecy to sell stuff.

End of the world sales everywhere, with big discounts, especially during our final minutes on Earth.

And one ad I found features a disclaimer. "If the world does end -- you will not receive your order or a refund. If we we are still here on Saturday, all orders will ship after New Year's."

Depending on what you believe, there still might time for the apocalypse. So the "I survived" tattoos could be a little premature.

"We still have until midnight, so I guess they'll be definitely getting a permanent removal if something happens," said Natonio.

If we've got more time in this world, might as well buy up, drink up, and enjoy!
