Students receive lessons on dangers of texting & driving

TAMPA, Fla. - Fifth-grade students at Carrollwood Day School in Tampa used a virtual reality driving simulator.

The simulator was provided by AT&T.  The company hopes to save lives by sending a message that when it comes to texting and driving, it can wait .

A fifth-grade class at Carrollwood day school studied the social issue of texting and driving.  It was a project the students had to complete this past semester.  Those students presented research results to their high school classmates.

Students also heard a first hand account from Steve Augello.  He's a Spring Hill parent who lost his daughter in a texting related accident.
