BOWLING GREEN, Fla. - A 4-year-old child has been flown to Tampa General Hospital as a trauma alert, after being hit by a riding lawn mower in Hardee County.
According to the Bowling Green Police Department, the girl and her 8-year-old sister were outside playing, when her father backed up the mover and struck the girl's left leg.
It happened at a residence on Freeman Ave. Friday afternoon.
A spokesman for BGPD told ABC Action News, the girl's injuries are significant, but not to the degree of Ireland Nugent.
Nugent lost both of her feet in a lawnmower accident in April in Palm Harbor (see http://wfts.tv/14hKArt ).
