VALRICO, Fla. - School and law enforcement officials confirmed Bloomingdale High School was placed on lockdown Friday morning.
A school official told ABC Action News the school was locked down before 11:30 a.m., but could not provide further information. An official at the school confirmed at 11:45 a.m. that the school was no longer on lockdown.
Hillsborough County Sheriff's officials said the school was on lockdown due to a suspicious incident involving a ROTC rifle and it does not appear the object was dangerous.
Deputies are on the campus speaking with the person about the incident.
