Operation Homefront will hold its Back to School Brigade in Tampa the first Saturday in August to give military children free school supplies.

The non-profit organization helps military families across the country and each year they hold a school supply drive.

On August 6th, volunteers will hold its annual donation drive by giving eligible military children a backpack with brand new school supplies.

A good portion of the donations comes from people at local Dollar Tree stores in the Bay area.

"I know it may seem small," said Charlotte Merriam, organizer for the Tampa area, "a backpack with supplies might be saving a military family thirty dollars."

Right now, the organization is looking to sign up 150 families.
