TAMPA, FL -- Detectives arrested a Farnell Middle School teacher Thursday after she allegedly forced a 14-year-old student to touch her inappropriately.
According to the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office, 39-year-old Tammy Clinton, a 6th grade geography teacher, forced the victim to touch her on three different occasions, one as recently as Thursday.
In one incident, detectives say Clinton forced the boy to touch her breasts with his hand as she fondled his buttocks while the two were on school grounds.
Detectives say the relationship began last month and continued until Wednesday, when Clinton allegedly attempted to lure the boy off school property so she could perform sexual acts on him.
The student told another teacher, who brought the situation to law enforcement.
They arrested Clinton at the school just before 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
She was charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and two counts of lewd and lascivious conduct. Clinton was released from jail Friday on $30,000 bond.
Hillsborough Schools district spokesman Steve Hegarty said Clinton has been ordered not to return to the classroom, and will be placed on adminstrative leave.
She taugh at Farnell for 8 years and has not had any previous disciplinary problems, Hegarty said.
