BARTOW, FL -- Set the clock back 70 years. Polk County Sheriff's deputies say they've busted up a still and arrested two moonshiners.

Deputies found the a still in Bartow following an anonymous tip. State alcohol agents were called in to dismantle the still and confiscate seven jars of moonshine.

"Every now and then, we run across an illegal moonshine still—it gives us a glimpse of what law enforcement must have been like back in the day,” said Sheriff Grady Judd in a prepared statement.

Both suspects who live at the residence, 54-year-old Kenneth Wilkerson, and 36-year-old Rockie Smith admitted to using the still to make moonshine for their own use and to sell to their friends and co-workers.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with one count each of Possession of a Still or Still Apparatus, Possession of Moonshine, and Conspiracy to Violate Beverage Law.

Both men have bonded out of jail.
