ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Bill Foster was declared the winner of the race for mayor in St. Petersburg Tuesday night.

Kathleen Ford conceeded the race to Foster just before 8 p.m.  The unofficial results with all precincts reporting were finalized a short time later.

"I couldn't be more happy with Bill Foster," said outgoing Mayor Rick Baker.  "He's gonna be a great leader for our city.  He wants to move us forward and continue the progress we have made."

Foster won with 53% of the vote.

Kathleen Ford, who was making her second run for mayor, said she will not run again.

She said she will continue to fight plans to build a new stadium for the Tampa Bay Rays.
