Ron Bloom and Tonya Townsel first fell in love more than a quarter century ago.
They met at the fair. When it left town, so did Bloom, who worked the event.
They reconnected last year and next week they are getting married.
Ron always told her she won his heart on “a wink and a smile,” the phrase they wanted engraved on Ron's wedding band.
Townsel says she dropped the ring off for engraving in April. Panic began to set in in June. The jeweler shipped the ring to Frederick Goldman for engraving but had no answer as to when it would return.
This bride made a call for action just three weeks before the wedding. I emailed the corporate offices of Frederick Goldman in New York City. They were quick to respond.
Tonya says she got a call on a Wednesday stating the ring would be delivered by Friday.
In an email a Frederick Goldman stated, “We immediately engraved another ring and shipped it out… We wish Tonya and her fiancé a lifetime of happiness.
The band complete with the words “a wink and a smile” arrived Friday as promised.
The couple will tie the knot in the Virginia town where they met.
