The Kellogg company has issued a recall for 2.8 million boxes and individual sized Frosted Mini-Wheats and unfrosted Mini-Wheats due to possible fragments of flexible metal in the cereal, The Christian Science Monitor reports.
"We have initiated a voluntary recall due to the possible presence of fragments of flexible metal mesh from a faulty manufacturing part," the company said in a statement.
"Recalled products include only Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size with the letters KB, AP or FK before or after the Best If Used Before date."
The expiration dates of the affected products fall between April 1 2013 to Sept. 21, 2013.
The company is offering replacement boxes of cereal for customers by calling (800) 962- 1413.
