There are many reasons to change out locks, let’s show you how.

After removing the old lock set try this smart lock set.

Handyman Paul Schramm has put in a lot of these, and calls these the safest and most convenient.

"See how this turns? And when you lock it, it’s going to catch right in there," Schramm said.

Line it up, and tighten the screws.

The deadbolt matches up similarly, tighten the screws to complete the installation.

Then test it.

Now the cool part. Take the key that came with it and put it into the lock. Then use a special pin, remove the new key, and try a key you use to another door in your home.

Now that works on the lock.

The keys that came with it now don’t work.

Smart locks allow you to sync up all of the locks in your home, and that special pin that came with the set is the only way to change it.

Safe and secure.

Items you’ll need: Smart lock set, screw driver or power drill.
