Glittery iPhone cases recalled due to skin irritations, burns

MixBin Electronics has recalled all its iPhone 6, 6s and 7 liquid glitter cases Tuesday after reports of skin irritations and burns from leaking liquid and glitter.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission website, there have been 24 reports of skin irritation or chemical burns from around the world, 19 of which came from the United States. 

"One consumer reported permanent scarring from a chemical burn and another consumer reported chemical burns and swelling to her leg, face, neck, chest, upper body and hands."

Affected cases were sold at Amazon, Henri Bendel, MixBin, Nordstrom Rack, Tory Burch and Victoria’s Secret stores nationwide and online from October 2015 through June 2017 for between $15 and $65. They were sold in various styles and colors and measure about 5.5 inches by 2.75 inches. To view photos of all affected cases, click here.

MixBin asks customers to stop using the recalled cases immediately and contact them for a refund at 855-215-4935, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Eastern time, Monday through Friday.
