TAMPA - In this week's Tampa Bay Business Journal segment, editor Alexis Muellner discusses how business are successfully using Twitter, the country Beef 'O' Brady's is expanding to, and the takeaways from the MediFuture 2023 seminar.

Earlier this year Lakeland-based Publix Super Markets became a Twitter-using business. The company created two accounts: @Publix to share information about products to customers and to answer questions, and @PublixHelps for customer service issues.

Publix did research before engaging on the social media website to see if it was the right fit for them. Many businesses realize makes sense to tweet, but to do it in a way that serves the company's and their customers' needs.

Beef 'O' Brady's is expanding overseas. This summer the restaurant chain which began in Brandon will open in Saudi Arabia. Two more locations will open in the Middle East by the end of the year.

The company chose countries to expand to where there are stable governments and a craving for American food.

This week the MediFuture 2023 seminar was held in Tampa. Presented by the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp., the event attracted nearly 500 business and community leaders.

The seminar focused on positioning the Tampa Bay region for development in the health care industry over the next ten years.
