Dow closes above 14,000 for first time since 2007

NEW YORK (AP) - The Dow Jones industrial average jumped 149 points Friday to close above 14,000.

That's a mark it hasn't crossed since October of 2007, before the financial crisis hit.

The Dow traded above 14,000 on several occasions Friday.

Stocks rallied following word from the Labor Department that employers added 157,000 jobs last month, and hiring was much stronger at the end of last year than previously thought.
