Fun things to do in Tampa Bay this Memorial Day weekend | May 26-29

Memorial Day weekend is upon us! If you're looking for something fun to do this 3-day weekend (May 26-29), there's plenty of action happening around the Tampa Bay area. 

Friday, May 26

Train performing with OAR and Natasha Bedingfield

The rock band Train is on tour with OAR and Natasha Bedingfield! The trio will be making its way to the Florida State Fair Grounds for a Friday night concert you won’t want to miss. It begins at 7 p.m. at the MidFlorida Credit Union Ampitheatre. Tickets begin at $23 for general admission. Click here for more information.

Friday Concerts in the Park

If you’re wanting more of a laid back scene but still want to enjoy live music, check out Friday Concerts in the Park. This is Tampa’s longest running concert series which features live music from reggae and jazz to country and rock n’ roll. Bring a picnic basket and your four legged friend (on a leash). Friday’s free event features the Johnny G. Lyon Band and it kicks off at 7 p.m. at Lowry Park. Click here for more information.

Jack Hanna Weekend at Busch Gardens

Celebrity animal expert “Jungle Jack” Hanna will be hosting animal shows, autograph signings, meet-and-greets and special appearances at Busch Gardens both Saturday and Sunday. This lifelong adventurer will be sharing animal facts and travel tales of some of the planet’s most precious and endangered species. Click here for more information.

97X BBQ

Who doesn’t love BBQ and live music by the water? American indie rock band Grouplove will headline the 97X BBQ event on Saturday with musical guest Milky Chance, K.Flay, COIN and others. The event begins at noon and goes until 11 p.m. at Vinoy Park in downtown St. Petersburg. Click here for more information.

Tampa Bay Margarita Festival

Margs on margs on margs! Grab the salt and limes for the 5th Annual Tampa Bay Margarita Festival. 50,000 margaritas and tons of local food will be served during the festival with headliner Barenaked Ladies. Sunset Music Festival

EDM fans, rejoice! The Sunset Music Festival returns to Raymond James Stadium for another action packed weekend. Hear the freshest sounds from headlining performances by Major Lazer, Above & Beyond, RL Grime, Zeds Dead and many more. More than 50,000 dance music fans are expected at this year’s festival. Light up Tampa Bay Memorial Day Weekend Celebration

Celebrate our fallen heroes this Memorial Day weekend with a vast mix of food and beverages along the downtown Tampa waterfront. The party starts at 6 p.m. at Channelside Bay Plaza with live music, outdoor games and entertainment. A large fireworks display will light up the city’s skyline at 8:45 p.m. Click here for more information. 

Treasure Kwest

It's an escape room, but indoors! A brand new family-friendly, pirate-themed attraction opened this week on Clearwater Beach. It offers you a hidden plethora of games where you'll solve pirate-speaking riddles, puzzles and clues to find Clearwater Beach history. If you're a member of the military, you also get a 25 percent.
