MINNEAPOLIS - The tallest man in the United States is getting custom-made shoes, thanks to Reebok.
Igor Vovkovinskiy traveled from Minnesota to Reebok's headquarters in Massachusetts for the custom fitting.
Vovkovinskiy is 7 feet, 8 inches tall.
He is originally from Russia, and was born with a pituitary gland problem that explains his height.
Vovkovinskiy says he has had 16 surgeries in six years to fix problems created by improperly-fitting shoes.
His shoe size is somewhere between 22 and 26.
After a prototype is developed, Igor will test out the shoes.
Then adjustments will be made and he will eventually have a new pair of well-fitting shoes.
Reebok says the project will cost between $12,000 and $20,000.
Reebok has made other over-sized shoes before, including a size 19 for former NBA star Yao Ming.
Reebok has also made a size 22 for Shaquille O'Neal.
