Every Friday ABC Action News puts a special spotlight on a dog or cat that needs a home in our Pet of the Week segment.

This week we are featuring a Pit Bull Terrier puppy. Meet Lilly. This 8-month-old lady comes from Pet Pal Animal Shelter in St. Petersburg.

Lilly has a lovable and bubbly personality. Shelter workers report she is very active, smart and loves to give doggy kisses.

Lilly is looking for the perfect family who will help her become the best dog she can be. Thanks to her Pit Project Guardian Angel, Lilly's adoption fee is been reduced to $75. You must own your own home to adopt her.

Lilly is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

For more information about how to adopt Lilly or other adoptable animals at Pet Pal Animal Shelter, you can call them (727) 328-7738 or go online to www.petpalanimalshelter.com.

Pet Pal Animal Shelter is located at 405 22nd Street South Street in St. Petersburg. You can visit all their dogs and cats up for adoption Tuesdays to Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 to 4:30 p.m.

Pet Pal's biggest fundraiser of the year is being held Saturday, May 13 at The Coliseum in downtown St. Petersburg.

This year's theme for the 15th annual Puppy Love Benefit is "Whiskers in Wonderland."

The evening festivities include a silent and live auction, a 50/50 raffle, dinner, puppy pimping and live entertainment.

The fundraiser provided much needed money for the care and recuperation of animals at Pet Pal Animal Shelter.

The event runs from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Single tickets are $85 and can be purchased by clicking here.
