Izzy is a name you cannot forget. It was the mascot's name at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. It is also the name of a sweet girl who needs a home.

This week's pet of the week comes from Pet Pal Animal Shelter in St. Petersburg. Izzy is a two-year-old female Catahoula Leopard mix.

She is a sweet girl who walks well on a leash and seems to have a calm demeanor. She would need to meet and greet any other dogs a family has before being adopted.

Shelter workers report Izzy is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200.

For more information about how to adopt Izzy, call Pet Pal Animal Shelter at (727) 328-7738 or visit www.petpalanimalshelter.com.

Pet Pal Animal Shelter is located at 405 22nd Street South Street in St. Petersburg. You can visit all their dogs and cats up for adoption Tuesdays to Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 to 4:30 p.m.
