TAMPA - The Florida Aquarium is working hard to get ready for their big fundraiser next weekend. Their 13th annual SeaGrapes Food and Wine Festival kicks of May 3 at 8 p.m.
Profits benefit their youth education and conversation programs. Aquarium staff joined ABC Action News in studio Sunday morning to share the story of Lexi the Pelican. She has been a direct beneficiary of the conversation program.
She was rescued by the aquarium after she got caught up in some fishing wire. She can no longer fly, but is happy roaming the different exhibits of the aquarium.
The festival offers over 150 different varies of wine and food from over 25 local restaurants. There will also be live entertainment thorough the exhibits. A silent auction will also be going on offering participants the opportunity to bid on unique items and packages.
Tickets for the event start $95.
