As you get ready to purchase gifts for the loved ones in your life this holiday season, we’re giving you an opportunity to remember the many kids in the Bay area who don’t have some of the basic necessities in life.

It's time for the ABC Action News Angel tree, a chance to “adopt angels” by providing gifts to children in need.

To participate in the Angel Tree project, just stop by our station, located at 4505 N Himes Avenue in Tampa.

Once you’re here, select an angel -- which represents a child -- off of our Christmas tree.

Next, you buy new toys, clothing or the request that is written on the angel, spending a total of at least $25.

Then return your unwrapped gifts with the attached tag on the angel that includes the case number.

You get to keep the paper angel ornament as a reminder of the child or the children that you helped this holiday season.

Our lobby is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., except for Thanksgiving.

We will have giveaways and drawings for great prizes to say thank you to our viewers.

All purchased gifts must be returned by Friday, December 13.
