VIETNAM - Juan Pablo and the remaining 11 women hit the streets of Vietnam for episode five of "The Bachelor."
Renee got the first one-on-one date. She was eager to spend the day strolling down the streets of Hoi An. This "Bachelor" junkie couldn't help but smile when Juan Pablo had a custom dress made for her.
Renee has been one of my favorites from the start. I was glad to see him go out of his way to make the single mom feel special. During dinner, they connected over conversation about their kids. I was so excited when she got a rose at the end of the night.
Emotional fireworks flew during the group date. Juan Pablo surprised the ladies by telling them they would be doing traditional Vietnamese activities. But they were not happy when he paired up with Clare for a boat ride. Eight sets of eyes looked on with jealousy as they kissed.
The tension only grew as the day went on. At the end of the night, it seemed like a volcano was about to erupt when Clare got the rose. Little did they know she would sneak off with Juan Pablo away for a romantic late night swim in the ocean.
Nikki was excited to finally get some alone with Juan Pablo during her one-on-one date. But she was terrified when she found out they would be repelling into a cave. Her fear of heights took over, but the smooth talking "Bachelor" helped her take the plunge.
His attraction for her only seemed to grow as the night went on. No surprise, she got a rose. It was nice to see her open up to him. Her honesty is refreshing.
None of the ladies expected the drama that was about to unfold during the cocktail party. It started when Juan Pablo announced three women would be going home. Then he pulled Clare aside and shared his mixed emotions about their romantic time in the ocean.
He reiterated the fact he wanted to be a good example for his daughter. Clare did not take the comments well and turned into a ball of emotions. I have seriously mixed emotions about this situation. It sure seemed like he put a lot of the blame on Clare. It will be interesting to see how their relationship progresses from here.
During the rose ceremony, Juan Pablo cried as he sent home three ladies.
Now only Renee, Clare, Nikki, Andi, Cassandra, Chelsie, Kat and Sharleen remain to fight for "The Bachelor's" heart.
Next week the women head to New Zealand.
