Things to do around Tampa Bay the weekend of Feb. 22-23

From baseball to motocross, there's something for everyone this weekend. Here is a list of things to do this weekend around Tampa Bay:

  1. The Nuclear Cowboyz kick off their high-flying stunt show set to heavy metal, lasers and pyrotechnics at the Tampa Bay Times Forum this weekend. There are three shows: Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. More information: http://wfts.tv/1jhDw6s
  2. Busch Gardens continues with Bands Brews & BBQ this weekend with two big names in music taking the stage: Bret Michaels, former lead singer for the band "Poison" and "Rock of Love" superstar, and country singer Justin Moore, this year's nominee for "New Artist of the Year" by The Academy of Country Music. Moore is in concert Saturday, Feb. 22 and Michaels takes the stage on Sun. Feb. 23. Both concerts start at 5 p.m. and are free to guests and located just behind the Gwazi rollercoaster. Bands, Brews, & BBQ runs every Saturday and Sunday through March 9 and offers samplings of more than 100 specialty and craft beers and barbecue from around the bay, along with the headline concerts.   3. The Gasparilla Distance Classic Weekend kicks off on Saturday with the 5k and 15k along Bayshore Blvd., Davis Islands and downtown Tampa. The festivities continue Sunday with the Half Marathon and 8K.   4. And it's almost Spring, which means it's time for Spring Training! The Tampa Bay Rays are gearing up for an exciting 2014 season with Rays Fan Fest, Sat. Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Tropicana Field. Admission and parking is free. Fan Fest includes activities for the kids like "Reading with the Rays," photos with Rays mascots Raymond and DJ Kitty, and other baseball activities for all ages. There will also be appearances by Rays players and coaches! There will also be a "Phone A Friend" stage where a Rays player will call a family member or a friend for you.
