Josh Homme threatened festival walkout over Jay Z's security

Rocker JOSH HOMME threatened to walk out of JAY Z's Made in America Festival just hours before taking to the stage with his QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE bandmates when one of the rapper's security guards tried to search his bag.

The No One Knows hitmakers were on the bill for the second day of the event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania earlier this month (Sep13), but they almost pulled their set at the 11th hour over a bust-up with backstage workers.

Frontman Homme was stunned at the level of security demanded by organisers and he has branded festival founder Jay Z a "kook" for instructing guards to search the band's bags.

He tells Canada's CBC Radio 2, "That guy's a kook, you know. He has his security frisking the bands on the way in... I just told (the security guard) 'If you open up my bag, then we're not playing, so I guess it's up to you now to decide whether I'm playing or not'... You shouldn't frisk my guys, you should f**k off."

Homme was also left fuming after being asked to pose for photographs with Jay Z's own-brand Ace of Spades champagne at the festival, adding, "I was like, 'That's not a gift - that's a marketing tool.' I destroyed it, because I thought it was rude overall."
