Claws Come Out On "The Bachelor"
By Joy Presley
The 13 remaining women were overwhelmed with excitement when they found out their search for love was heading to Seoul, South Korea for episode four of "The Bachelor."
Chelsie, Cassandra, Elise, Danielle, Kat and Nikki got the first group date with Juan Pablo. Nikki was not thrilled about the fact she would, once again, have to share Juan Pablo. Little did the ladies know they would soon be meeting "2NE1," one of the top K-Pop groups in South Korea. After a little practice, they had the chance to perform with them in front of thousands of people.
After the fast paced performance, it was time to get serious. My heart went out to Kat as she opened up about her alcoholic father. I was glad to see her reveal a softer, more vulnerable side of her personality. Meanwhile, Nikki stirred up some drama as she shared her disapproval for some of the women, mainly Kat. The ladies were clearly not amused by her "negativity." This situation left this "Bachelor" junkie feeling torn. I have been a fan of Nikki's from the start. It was hard for me to watch the other ladies attack her. She was even able to open up during her alone time with Juan Pablo. At the end of the night, much to the disgust of the other women, Nikki got the rose.
Sharleen got the only one on one date in Seoul. The pair spent the day tasting the local cuisine. Once again, Juan Pablo was mesmerized by her elegance and appreciation of culture, but I was completely unimpressed by their dull conversation. The true test came after some impromptu opera singing, when Juan Pablo asked her what she thought about having children. I was relived she was honest with him, citing that her career had been her primary focus. He also appreciated her honesty, and gave her a rose at the end of the night.
Andi, Clare, Lauren S., Renee, Kelly, and Alli were eager to start their group date. Their crazy time in Seoul started with karaoke, followed by a paddleboat ride. The date got a little weird when Juan Pablo took the ladies to have the dead skin eaten off their feet by fish. As they sampled exotic foods, some of the women thought Clare was monopolizing their time with him.
Emotions were raw as the night went on. Lauren S. cried when she found out Juan Pablo wasn't going to kiss her. Meanwhile, Andi's connection with him continued to grow. The ladies also voiced more frustrations about Clare. At the end of the night, Andi got the rose.
The claws came out during the cocktail party. Nikki sparked controversy after moving in for alone time even though she already had a rose. I could feel the tension on my couch as Clare shared her disapproval. I have a feeling the drama between them is just beginning.
During the rose ceremony, two ladies were sent home.
Now only Nikki, Sharleen, Andi, Renee, Chelsie, Kelly, Danielle, Cassandra, Alli, Clare, and Kat remain to fight for Juan Pablo's heart.
Next week the women head to Vietnam.
