MIAMI - A tropical disturbance, labeled Invest 99L has been upgraded to a tropical depression by the National Hurricane Center.

It is quite possible that this disturbance could become Tropical Storm Ernesto over the weekend.

Most of the computer models have it weakening rapidly during the beginning of next week.

The track of this disturbance is a little up in the air right now, but it appears that it will either swing up over the Bahamas by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week (staying east of Florida), or travel across the Caribbean and into the Gulf of Mexico ending up near Texas by the end of next week.

As of right now, it does not appear to be anything the Tampa Bay area needs to be concerned about it, but as usual we will keep our eyes on it and keep you up to date.
