TAMPA BAY - Outages and reports of damage are coming in following a severe thunderstorm warning that was issued for Polk, Hardee, Hillsborough and Manatee counties 3:30 Wednesday afternoon.
A Sun Toyota vehicle in Holiday was impacted by a pole that feel right on top of the vehicle's roof earlier this afternoon.
A Tampa resident on East 24th Avenue says a tree fell on her home, powerlines are in her yard and her power is out.
She is not alone. Downed trees have also been reported at 10th and Lincoln in Lakeland. A downed tree is in the road at 810 East Bella Vista.
Tampa Electric is reporting that 4,042 customers are without power. Duke Energy report over 1,400 of their customers have been affected by the weather and they're 87 current outages.
National Weather Service meteorologists detected a line of severe thunderstorms just before 3:30 p.m. They are capable of producing damaging winds excess of 60 miles per hour.
Officials say drivers need to come to a complete stop at intersections were the traffic lights are out, then proceed with caution.
