TAMPA - A freeze warning is in effect for Levy, Citrus, Hernando, and Sumter Counties. The warning is in effect from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Thursday.
The National Weather Services says cold and dry air will come into the area as high pressure moves across the state of Florida over night. That will likely allow for hours of below freezing temperatures over the inland areas of those counties early Thursday morning.
Temperatures are forecast to fall between 27 degrees and 32 over those areas.
Coastal areas are expected to stay above 32 degrees.
Residents should cover or move any cold-sensitive plants indoors, and bring pets indoors as well.
