TAMPA -

While some of his south Tampa neighbors were blowing through chores, David Demarcay was crowing about how he -- and his home -- are storm safe.

"First and foremost I saved money on my insurance," he said

And all he did was call out the team from “Insure Inspect”.

"It's just a name that we felt was appropriate for what we do with wind mitigation and four point inspections," said Ron Alderman. He’s worked all sorts of construction projects, as has his business partner Tim Glisson. But this effort to team up with homeowners to save money -- and lives -- is one they’re both pretty excited about

"It is extremely easy,” said Glisson. “We come in and do all the work for identification. We take all the photos that we need and then we turn it into the insurance company or to you.”

Within a couple of hours, they’ve got all the documentation they need, and then get it in a presentation-to-the-insurance company ready format.

“You turn it into the insurance company and they have to give you credits by law," he added.

Credits for stuff like new shingles, bracing, protected openings...even roof geometry.

"And there’s a lot of people that don't know about it,” added Alderman. “We're trying to get the word out that there is an opportunity here for people who are frustrated with their insurance rates that can help grab control over that."

And whether it’s climbing up into an attic to check on the roof decking, or simply shooting a series of exterior pictures to show the structure, these guys sure do their due diligence for the $150 fee. It’s a pretty good investment, considering David’s sliced nearly $3,000 off his last three years’ worth of insurance premiums.  All he needed was the proper proof from the inspectors

"The best thing about the inspection is knowing that there wasn't really anything else I had to do,” said the happy (and somewhat richer) homeowner. “My house is already safe from a possible hurricane coming."
