TAMPA - Tropical Depression Six has formed into Tropical Storm Florence, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Florence, the sixth named storm of the season, has maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour.
 
The storm is located several hundred miles west of the Cape Verde islands and is moving west-northwest at 16 miles per hour.
