TAMPA BAY - The westbound Selmon Expressway Exit 7 ramp to Morgan/Brorein streets closed Sunday night, and will remain closed for approximately one month, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. FDOT says motorists will need to use Exit 8/Kennedy Boulevard, or Exit 5/Plant Avenue, to go to downtown Tampa.

The closure is part of FDOT's $64.4 million project to replace bridge decks and widen the Selmon Expressway (State Road 618) from west of Morgan Street to east of 19th Street. The project began in October, 2011 and is scheduled for completion later this year.

More information on the project is at this link.
