TAMPA - Here are some construction closures that may impact your weekend travels in and out of downtown Tampa. For traffic updates any time, follow @TampaBayTraffic on Twitter.
I-275 TAMPA: The portion of southbound I-275 Exit 45A to Ashley Drive will be closed from 11:30 p.m. Friday (September 20) to 5:30 a.m. Monday (September 23).
DETOUR: Use the same exit, but branch to Doyle Carlton Drive once on the exit ramp. Turn right onto Doyle Carlton Drive, right onto Henderson Avenue, right onto Tampa Street, and then right onto Tyler Street to Ashley Drive.
DOWNTOWN TAMPA: The entrance ramps onto southbound I-275 from Tampa/Kay streets and Ashley Drive will be closed from 11:30 p.m. Friday (September 20) to 5:30 a.m. Monday (September 23).
RAMP DETOURS: Traffic on Tampa/Kay streets will be directed south on Tampa Street, turn right and go west on Tyler Street, merge onto Cass Street and continue west to North Boulevard, turn right onto North Boulevard to Cypress Street, turn left onto Cypress Street and go west to Howard Avenue, turn right and go north on Howard, then turn left and use the entrance ramp at Armenia Avenue under the interstate. Ashley Drive traffic will follow the same detour, beginning by turning left onto Tyler Street.
I-275 TAMPA - WESTSHORE: The southbound I-275 exit ramp to Dale Mabry Highway (Exit 41A) will be closed from 11:30 p.m. Friday (September 20) to 5:30 a.m. Monday (September 23).
DETOUR: Use Exit 40A, turn right onto West Shore Boulevard, then turn right and go east on Cypress Street to Dale Mabry Highway.
WESTSHORE: All lanes will be closed on Doyle Carlton Drive from Laurel Street to Henderson Drive from 9:00 p.m. Friday (September 20) to 5:30 a.m. Monday (September 23).
SOUTHBOUND DETOUR: East on Henderson Avenue, south on Tampa Street, then west on Laurel Street. NORTHBOUND DETOUR: East on Laurel Street, south on Tampa Street, east on Fortune Street, north on Florida Avenue, then west on Henderson Avenue.
TAMPA - SELMON EXPRESSWAY: Traffic will be detoured off the westbound Selmon Expressway (SR 618) between 50th Street (Exit 11) and 22nd Street (Exit 9) from 4:30 a.m. to noon (12:00 p.m.) Saturday, September 21. To ease congestion on the local lanes of the Expressway and through the detour route, the Reversible Express Lanes (REL) will be open in the westbound direction from 4:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. At 1:30 pm, the REL will then be reversed to normal weekend eastbound travel until 6:00 a.m. Monday, September 23.
WESTBOUND DETOUR: Westbound traffic continuing on the local lanes will be directed off the Selmon Expressway at 50th Street (Exit 11), detoured west on SR 60 (Adamo Drive), then back onto the Expressway using the 21st Street entrance ramp. Tolls will be suspended for entering the westbound Selmon Expressway at 21st Street during detour hours only.
ALSO CLOSED: The entrance ramps to the westbound Selmon Expressway from 78th Street and 50th Street will also be closed during the detour hours. Drivers can go west on State Road 60 to enter the westbound Selmon Expressway at 21st Street.
