Morning drive traffic updates for Wednesday, October 17

9:10 -- CLEARWATER: Southbound McMullen Booth jammed from SR-590 to southern end of Bayside Bridge due to earlier crash. Use US-19.

8:54 -- BAYSIDE BRIDGE: Cleanup of earlier crash underway but southbound traffic still jammed.

8:47 -- I-275 ST. PETERSBURG: Slow traffic northbound from 22nd Ave S to past the downtown exits. Crash @ I-175 & new crash reported at 38th Ave S.

8:41 -- BAYSIDE BRIDGE still crawling southbound. Use US-19.

8:20 -- CLEARWATER: One-mile backup reported southbound Bayside Bridge.

8:19 -- I-275 ST. PETERSBURG: Crash reported northbound near I-175 in downtown. I don't see it on my traffic cams yet.

8:15 -- WESLEY CHAPEL: Fender bender Bruce B Downs & County Line Rd.

8:10 -- I-4 TAMPA: Drive time westbound from I-75 to I-275 = 19 minutes with heaviest traffic delays between 50th & downtown.

8:06 -- CLEARWATER - ST. PETE: Accident reported at Roosevelt Blvd & 49th St.

7:58 -- I-4 POLK CO: Still no visual on the crash westbound near SR-559 but it's reportedly in the median closer to MM 45. I did see EMS responding.

7:50 -- LARGO: EMS on scene of accident on Clearwater-Largo Rd @ Braginton, south of Ponce De Leon.

7:49 -- ST. PETERSBURG: Fuel spill reported on 54th Ave N over I-275. No traffic delays on I-275 at this time.

7:44 -- I-75 TAMPA: Southbound drive time from the Apex to Fowler = approx. 20 min. Northbound traffic delay from north of I-4 to Fowler Ave. #USF

7:29 -- BRANDON: Accident @ Bloomingdale & Bell Shoals with @HC_sheriff on scene. Slow WB Bloomingdale.

7:22 -- LUTZ : crash on US-41 & Crenshaw Lae is blocking the right lane southbound.

6:46 -- I-75 TAMPA: I see flashing lights in the median of northbound I-75 near Fowler. Traffic tapping the brakes both directions.

6:38 -- BELLEAIR BLUFFS: Action Air 1 over fire on Indian Rocks Rd. Fire is out. Looks like a strip mall @ Mehlenbacher. SB Indian Rocks blocked.

6:33 -- I-275 TAMPA: Southbound traffic already heavy from Busch Blvd to Hillsborough Ave.

6:23 -- BELLEAIR BLUFFS UPDATE: 1 southbound lane of Indian Rocks Rd blocked at Mehlenbacher. Fire Dept working a scene.

6:19 -- CLEARWATER: Crash with injuries at Belcher Rd & Nursery Rd

6:18 -- BELLEAIR BLUFFS: Fire Dept responding to structure fire at Indian Rocks Rd near Melanbacher Rd. 1-alarm fire.

6:09 -- I-75 DRIVE TIME: Southbound from SR-54 in Wesley Chapel to I-4 in Tampa averaging 17 minutes as of 6:09 AM.

6:02 -- INTERSTATES and bridges are accident free.

E TAMPA: North 22nd St is closed in both directions between E McBerry St & E Frierson Ave for Tampa Water Department crews to repair a leaking water main. Marked local detours will be in place for all traffic approaching this area. Normal traffic patterns are expected to resume by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 19, following road restoration, depending on weather conditions.
