TAMPA - Gates are open for the rally for President Barack Obama at Centennial Park, 1800 East 8th Avenue, and at the Ybor City State Museum and Garden. Traffic congestion is expected in Ybor City from 6:30AM-Noon, especially in the area between 15th to 21st Streets from north of  7th Avenue to south of Palm Avenue.  7th

Avenue and Palm Avenue are expected to remain open during the event.

ROAD CLOSURES (until approximately 10:30AM):

  • 9th Avenue between 17th Street and 19th Street
  • Angel Oliva Sr. (18th) Street from Palm Avenue to 7th Avenue
  • 19th Street from Palm to 7th Avenue
  • 8th Avenue between 17th Street and 20th Street

.PARKING:

  • City parking lots #5 (between Angel Olivia/19th St) and #6 (between 19th/20th) CLOSED until Noon.
  • Available parking garages include Centro Ybor (1600 E 8th Ave) and Fernando Noriega (2012 N. 13th St)

PUBLIC TRANSIT:

  • HART says that its routes will not be rerouted around the rally, however delays are possible.
