TAMPA - The entrance ramp onto northbound I-275 from Lois Avenue closed early Tuesday, April 9, and will remain closed until late 2014, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
DETOUR: Travel east on Cypress Street, turn left onto northbound Dale Mabry Highway, and use that road's entrance ramp (41A) to northbound I-275.
The closure is required as part of FDOT's $215.4 million project to rebuild and widen I-275 from east of State Road 60 to the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa. This project is reconstructing all of the southbound interstate in that area, as well as northbound I-275 from east of State Road 60 to Himes Avenue. Northbound I-275 was rebuilt from Himes Avenue to downtown in a project that was completed in April 2010.
More information on this project, including a computer animated fly-over video of what the project will look like when completed, is at this link.
