UPDATE: SR-60/Adamo Drive opened at the railroad crossing east of 50th Street Saturday morning. The Florida Department of Transportation says CSX and the contractor finished scheduled repairs ahead of schedule. The work was expected to take one week. According to FDOT, there will be some minor asphalt work done in this area this week, but full closure isn't expected.
Adamo Drive/SR-60 is closed at the CSX railroad tracks east of 50th Street/US-41 and west of Orient Road for approximately one week. The closure is required as part of ongoing rehabilitation of CSX track.
The Florida Department of Transportation says access to businesses in the closure area is maintained, however through traffic is detoured via northbound Orient Road, 7th Avenue/Broadway Avenue, and southbound 50th Street.
Another option to avoid the roadwork is to use the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway (Crosstown). It's a cash-less toll road, however motorists without a SunPass can use the Toll-by-Plate option, which bills drivers using a snapshot of their vehicle's license plate.
