Wright had history of mischief before Adderall suspension

TAMPA - Is Bucs cornerback Eric Wright’s days with the Bucs numbered?

I’d say the chances are less than 50-50 that he'll be back next year.

According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, Wright’s four-game suspension handed down Monday voids the remaining guarantees in his contract.

That means the Bucs could opt to void Wright’s contract and avoid paying the $7.75 million he is owed in a guaranteed base salary for 2013 – or any other sum for that matter.

Wright signed a five-year contract, but the $15 million in guarantees in his deal were all limited to the first two years of the pact.

When asked Monday whether Wright’s suspension could impact his status with the Bucs going forward, Coach Greg Schiano said, “I anticipate he will (return in December) and that would lead to the next logical thought – that we'd get him back because he's a good player.”

Schiano also said he would welcome Aqib Talib back.

He was traded with one week left on his suspension.

I don’t have a crystal ball, but I’d say Wright’s tenure with the Bucs is just about over.

It’s not just the Adderall thing.  Wright had that mysterious illness in the off season and missed workouts.

He was arrested for DUI felony, but the charges were dropped.

He signs one big contract and this is the payback?
