Tim Brown says Raiders' loss to the Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII was sabotaged by head coach

TAMPA - I’ve heard plenty of off-the-wall comments by athletes in my day.

Former Raider and Hall of Fame finalist Tim Brown ranks right up there with the laughable.

Apparently, Brown was reminiscing about the Raiders' loss to the Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII on his radio show, and blurted out that his head coach, Bill Callahan, sabotaged the game, changing the game plan two days before kickoff.

I'll bet you that wasn't the first time a coach changed their game plan 48 hours before kickoff.

Brown went on to say he calls it sabotage because “Callahan and Jon Gruden were good friends and Callahan had big problems with the Raiders, you know, hated the Raiders.”

I’m not going to argue the fact there was an arsenal of people who disliked the Raiders at the time, but that franchise was fully capable of imploding on its own merits. 

It didn’t need Callahan to help the cause.

Besides, if I recall, the Raiders defense couldn't stop the Bucs offense all night long. 

I guess that doesn't account any for their loss, does it TB.

Come on Timmy?  You sound ludicrous.  Do you have proof, or is this one of your conspiracy theories you’ve been keeping inside for the past ten years?

What took you so long to spill your guts?

Perhaps the real reason you lost that game was Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber, John Lynch, Simeon Rice.

I can’t even believe I’m actually blogging about this.

As for Jon Gruden’s response to refute the allegation, Gruden texted, “Give me a break.  No thanks.”
