Former Dallas Cowboys star tailback Tony Dorsett says he forgets people's names or why he walked into a room, and he fears his memory issues are getting worse.

Dorsett traces his problems to concussions during an NFL career that lasted from 1977-88. He has joined more than 300 ex-players -- including three other members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame -- in suing the league and its teams.

Dorsett tells The Associated Press "the NFL is trying to deny" that players are suffering because of head injuries from their football days.

The AP interviewed a dozen plaintiffs, who depict a culture of indifference on the part of the NFL toward concussions and other injuries.

The league says it has long made player safety a priority.
