Tampa - Tampa Bay Buccaneers guard Carl Nicks is being treated for a recurrence of the MRSA infection in his left foot.
The Bucs received confirmation today after results of a recent culture were studied by infectious specialists.
Bucs general manager Mark Dominik said the MRSA outbreak in Nicks' foot is in the "same place, same location."
Nicks missed most of training camp while recovering from surgery on his left big toe when he was initially diagnosed with MRSA in late August.
Nicks didn't return to action until the third game of the regular season against New England.
A second player, kicker Lawrence Tynes, also was diagnosed with MRSA in August. Tynes is out for the season.
We wish both players a complete recovery. This is a very serious infection.
