The National Hockey League announced Friday the cancellation of the 2012-13 regular-season schedule through November 1.

A total of 135 regular-season games had been scheduled for October 11, Opening Day, through November 1.

The games were canceled because the NHL Players' Association and the NHL failed to reach a collective-bargaining agreement, the NHL said.
