TAMPA - Currently, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the 11th overall draft pick, according to SB Nation's draft order . Tiebreakers for draft position are based on strength of schedule, and the Bucs have faced one of the weaker schedules in the NFL by opponent record.
If the Bucs lose this Sunday, they could conceivably end up holding the sixth overall pick, while they could hold the 15th overall pick if they manage to win. The Atlanta Falcons have said that they will play to win on Sunday, but they haven't said anything about playing starters in what is essentially a meaningless game for them.
I will still be rooting for the Bucs to win on Sunday, because I cannot bring myself to root for a loss.
The Bucs will likely look to upgrade their secondary in the draft, which has been one of the worst in the NFL this season.
The Bucs have been forced to start players like Leonard Johnson and Danny Gorrer at cornerback, and they simply aren't good enough. Of course, with a high draft pick it's entirely possible that a singular talent they can't pass up will fall to them, regardless of their own needs.
