TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Tuesday that they have placed LB Quincy Black on Injured Reserve.
Black has played in all nine games with the Buccaneers this season, starting five, while recording 32 tackles, three tackles for loss, one fumble recovery and three special teams tackles.
Black suffered a neck injury in Sunday's win over San Diego. Tests were done on his left arm Monday. Likely results from that test indicated Black should shut it down for the rest of the season.
Since joining Tampa Bay as a third-round selection (68th overall) in 2007, Black has recorded 299 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions, 13 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and 62 special teams tackles.
The team also announced that it has signed DE Ernest Owusu and WR Diondre Borel to its practice squad and released TE LaMark Brown and WR Dale Moss.
