TAMPA, Fla. - Buccaneers players and general manager Mark Dominik shaved their heads at One Buccaneer Place. Fifteen players and nearly a dozen staff members had their heads shaved for the cause. Children previously and currently battling cancer cut the first swipes of hair.
The event raises money to help fund pediatric cancer research. The Buccaneers' goal was to raise $20,000 and they passed that amount. The money will help fund such things as the creation of less-invasive procedures and clinical trials at 11 different hospitals.
Donations can be made at pcfcutforacure.org or by calling 813-269-0955. Fundraising continues through June 30, 2013.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are strong partners with the Pediatric Cancer Foundation and general manager Mark Dominik serves on the board of the Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
