AL Cy Young Race: David Price thinks he's worthy

Tampa Bay Rays  starting pitcher  David Price  won his 20th game of the season with a solid effort against the  Chicago White Sox  on Sunday. Afterward, Price said that  he deserved to win the AL Cy Young award :

And after dismissing the topic and dodging the questions for weeks, Price finally said after the game that he indeed felt he was worthy.

"One hundred percent," he said. "I would vote for myself, yes."

As a result of Price's victory, the Rays stayed alive in the race for a playoff spot. While they cannot win the AL East at this point, they have a shot at snagging a Wild Card berth. They are three games behind the  Oakland Athletics , who currently own the final Wild Card slot, with three games left in the regular season.

Tampa Bay wraps up its regular season with a series against the  Orioles .
