Police: Man threatened to rape central Florida Christian radio host

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - A Christian radio host was praying live on the air when a man entered the studio, took off his clothes and threatened to rape her, Orange County authorities said.

Listeners to the program became concerned and called 911 when they heard threats being made early Monday at the La Voix Evangelique D'Orlando 98.9 SCA radio station.

Deputies arrested 30-year-old Donald Destin. Detectives say he admitted to the crime.

The Haitian-Christian host told detectives she was on the air when a man entered the building without permission. She said he exposed himself, performed a sex act and threatened to rape her.

“I didn't want to rape her, but I was attracted to her,” Destin told reporters following his arrest.

The host said she was able to lure the suspect out of the building. She then locked herself in her car. Deputies say Destin then went back in the building, took some items from the victim's purse and left,

Deputies caught up with Destin several hours later not far from the station. The victim identified him in a photo line up.

Destin faces charges of attempted sexual battery and burglary of an occupied structure. He was held without bond.
